Universities and Studying Abroad

Why Choose to Study Abroad?

Studying abroad is an increasingly popular choice among young people who aspire to more—more knowledge, more experience, and more opportunities. Everyone has their own reason: some seek out higher-quality degree programs, some want to engage in science within an international environment, others dream of living in a different country, and some simply wish to become the best version of themselves.

Regardless of the motivation, one thing is certain: studying overseas offers a range of advantages that shape both academic and personal development.

What Do You Gain from Education Beyond Borders?

  • Access to World-Class Education: Programs that focus on critical thinking, practical work, and an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Modern Learning Methods: Unlike the traditional, encyclopedic approach, studying abroad encourages research, argumentation, discussion, project work, and independent conclusion-making.
  • Language and Communication Skills: Perfecting a foreign language through daily life, studies, and interaction with peers from all over the world.
  • International Network of Contacts: Friendships, collaborations, and professional connections that often last a lifetime.
  • Globally Recognized Diploma: Degrees obtained from international universities open doors for careers around the globe.
  • Personal Empowerment: Independence, resourcefulness, adaptability—these are all skills you develop while living and studying in a new environment.

Studying abroad is not just about education—it is a life school. You will see the world from a different perspective, step outside your comfort zone, and discover your true potential. You will learn to rely on yourself while also appreciating diversity, teamwork, and cultural differences.

Undergraduate Studies Abroad

Planning undergraduate studies abroad requires solid preparation and the right information — but it also opens the door to exceptional opportunities for both personal and professional growth. Program length, language of instruction, admission requirements, and availability of specific majors vary from country to country, which is why having the right partner on this journey makes all the difference.

How long do undergraduate programs last?

The duration of undergraduate studies depends on the country and the academic system:

  • In most European countries, undergraduate programs last 3 years.
  • In countries such as the United States, Russia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, programs typically last 4 years.

These differences reflect the structure of each academic system, but in all cases, students earn internationally recognized degrees that allow them to continue to master’s programs or enter the global job market.

What is the language of instruction?

English is the primary language of instruction in most international programs. However, it’s important to note:

  • If you speak another foreign language (German, French, Italian, etc.), you may have the option to study in the local language of the host country.
  • Not all universities offer all majors in English. For example:
    • In Germany, business and economics programs are often available in English, while engineering programs are primarily taught in German.
    • In France and Italy, programs in the arts and culture fields may require proficiency in the local language.

For this reason, it’s essential to check language requirements for your chosen program early and prepare accordingly.

When and how to apply?

Application deadlines vary, but one rule always applies: the earlier you apply, the better your chances for admission and scholarships.

The application process typically includes:

  • selecting universities and programs
  • gathering required documents (transcripts, recommendation letters, motivational essays, etc.)
  • taking an English proficiency test (Duolingo, IELTS, or TOEFL)
  • completing entrance exams such as the SAT or ACT, depending on the country and institution

The ideal time to begin researching and preparing is the start of your final year of high school, giving you enough time for proper preparation and strategic applications to multiple universities.

Required application documents

Preparing documentation is one of the key steps in the application process. Requirements vary by country and university, but the most commonly requested documents include:

  • CV / résumé
  • Motivational letter (tailored to the selected program)
  • Teacher recommendations (usually two — English and Mathematics — plus a school counselor or principal recommendation)
  • Proof of English proficiency:
    • TOEFL
    • IELTS
    • Duolingo English Test
    • Cambridge certificates (FCE, CAE, CPE)
  • Certificate of another foreign language (if you plan to study in that language)
  • SAT test scores (optional but often recommended for U.S. and some European universities)
  • Transcripts from all years of high school
  • High school diploma (if already completed)
  • Passport copy

Important: This process takes time, which is why we strongly recommend starting early to ensure everything is ready before application deadlines.

Studying abroad does not have to be a financial burden. Thanks to various scholarship opportunities, many students manage to cover part — or even all — of their educational expenses.

Master’s Studies Abroad

Master’s programs are an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge, develop advanced professional skills, and open doors to new career possibilities. Their popularity is steadily growing, both locally and internationally, as they offer greater mobility, competitiveness in the job market, and access to global academic and professional networks.

How long do master’s programs last?

Master’s studies abroad typically last 1 or 2 years, depending on the structure and focus of the program:

  • One-year master’s programs are usually practice-oriented and career-focused. They are ideal for students who want to quickly enter the workforce or advance to higher professional positions.
  • Two-year master’s programs often have a stronger research component and provide an excellent foundation for pursuing doctoral studies (PhD).

In most cases, programs are taught in English, regardless of the country in which the university is located.

Note: Some programs — especially in the United States — may require previous work experience in a relevant field, as they are designed to connect students with industry professionals and create career opportunities after graduation.

When should you start preparing?

The ideal time to begin planning and preparing for master’s studies is at least one year before your intended start date. This allows enough time to collect all required documents, take necessary tests, and explore available scholarship opportunities.

Required application documents

To successfully apply for a master’s program abroad, you will typically need:

  • CV (résumé)
  • Motivational letter (tailored to the chosen program)
  • Academic or professional recommendation letters (preferably from professors or mentors in relevant fields)
  • Proof of English proficiency:
    • TOEFL
    • IELTS

    • Cambridge certificate
  • Certificate of proficiency in another language, if the program is taught in the local language of that country
  • GMAT / GRE (optional but recommended for U.S. and some European universities)
  • Transcript of records from previous studies
  • Degree certificate or diploma from completed undergraduate studies
  • Copy of the passport’s bio page
Scholarships for Master’s Studies Abroad

Unlike undergraduate programs, full scholarships for master’s studies are less common, but partial scholarships are very frequent and widely accessible. These scholarships can cover part of the tuition fee, accommodation costs, or other expenses — significantly easing the overall financial burden.

The type and amount of scholarship depend on:

  • the country and the university
  • the candidate’s academic performance and achievements (GPA, research work, extracurricular activities, experience, etc.)
